CPAS CTE Elanthoor is a self-financing institution runs by The Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS). CPAS is a newly formed society in the year 2017 established by the Government of Kerala by including all the Self Financing Departments formerly run by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. It was formerly known as University College of Teacher Education. It is affiliated to M.G University Kottayam.

The College of Teacher Education Elanthoor was established in the year 1992 affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. This is the only reputed Teacher Education Institution in Pathanamthitta District. The Pathanamthitta District Panchayat provided the infrastructure facilities for conducting the course. College has a permanent building in the compound of Govt. H.S.S Elanthoor was accorded by the Government.

There are five options Viz Hindi, Mathematics, Physical Science, Natural Science & Social Science. The total intake is 50. The admission to the course is done strictly adhering to the reservation rules stipulated by the Government.Sufficient play grounds are made available for the students. College has a well-equipped library and a reading room. There is well equipped library for science, psychology lab as well as technology.

The college stands as a light house of professional education. It is well situated in the rural area of Pathanamthitta District, where minority communities reside. As there are no other B.Ed. colleges in the radius of 25 KM, the college is playing a significant role in transforming this region educationally and socially.
